Call for Educator Written Articles and Reflections!

We are especially interested in articles, essays, and reflections on the following topics: Student Voice • Empathy • Creative Approaches to Bullying

Community Works Journal has been published by Community Works Institute (CWI) since 1995, in support of K-16 teaching practices that build community through academically integrated curriculum. We focus on Place Based Education, Service-Learning, and community building teaching practices. The Journal features educator written articles, essays, and reflections, along with curriculum overviews that highlight the importance of place, service, and community to a relevant and meaningful education.

The Journal consistently featured stories, models and resources intended to inspire by example. We showcase innovative educational strategies, practices and curriculum that involve educators and students in meaningful and compelling work within their communities. We stand for a shared belief in an educational process that is centered on community, with students as active empowered learners and citizens in their community.
