I had seen this classroom before—lab tables with students working independently or in small groups, the clutter of work-in-progress, laptops open and running, a bicycle propped in the corner—but today when I approached and looked through the panel of glass, it was all in medias res. I checked my watch and saw I was neither early nor late.
